Rother Valley Dog Agility Club
- Competition -
Every year RVDAC hold a club competition at the end of which we present the best dog/handler team with the accolade of being Club Champion.
Like everything at RVDAC, the aim is for the day to be fun and give handlers an idea of how they are progressing with their doggie partner. In all categories other than Club Champion, the top five places receive a rosette. The winner receives a trophy.

We run up to five seperate categories on the day depending upon numbers and experience. These are:

Beginners. This takes place on the beginners equipment and is for dogs and handlers in their first year of training.

On-Lead. For those dogs and handlers who have progressed to the main course but who still require the dog to be on a lead to help with control.

Advanced On-Lead. For more confident dogs and handlers, but one's who feel they still need the security of a lead on certain obstacles. To qualify for advanced on-lead, the dog must be able to complete the course mainly off-lead.

Off-Lead. The main competition for dogs and handlers who feel confident to run the advanced course without need for a lead or treats to get round.
Runs are against the clock, with faults given for failing to clear a jump or not touching the coloured contact points on A-frames, dog walks and see-saws.The fastest dog with a clean round wins and progresses to compete in the Club Champion competition.

CLUB CHAMPION. All previous winners of the Off-lead competition are invited to compete to become Club Champion. The winner receives the Dennis Flynn Memorial Trophy for the year.
